"...intrepid spirits seek victory over those things that seem impossible…
It is with an iron will that they embark on the most daring of all endeavors… to meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the unknown."

Statement

I believe in found beauty. I compose landscapes by carefully holding intersecting lines and shapes in tension, and I pursue the moment's grandeur through simplicity of design. In my landscapes those few people present are kept distant and unaware. I photograph others with detachment and I will wait for a moment in them of rest and concentration. Finally, I will at times photograph by intuition, without composing consciously, when I am gripped by feeling.

Style
These are straight photographs.

Method
I shoot film, mostly large format from Kodak, Ilford, and Fuji. I enlarge my black and white shots on silver fiber-base paper from Ilford. I process by hand, tone, wash, and air-dry my black and white prints according to strict archival guidelines. My exhibition color photographs are printed on Epson Exhibition Fibre paper using pigment inks. Very large black and white and color prints are printed to Fine Art Rag paper.
